Peel the Benefits of Lemon

We mostly hear about the benefits of lemon juice. After all, it is a good source of vitamin C, vitamin A, beta-carotene, folate, calcium, and potassium. What about the peel? The peel is also a good source of vitamin C, calcium, potassium, and an added plus - magnesium. The peel also provides several bioflavonoids with one of them being quercetin. Bioflavonoids have been found to strengthen the walls of blood vessels. Quercetin has also been found to reduce inflammation, blood pressure, allergic response and boost immunity.

You could take nutritional supplements, or you can go straight to the source - which is a better and a less expensive choice.

If you are drinking lemon water in the morning to help jump start your body, support your liver and kidney function, adrenal glands and digestion, here is my suggestion. Don't just juice the lemon. Use an ORGANIC lemon, quarter it and toss it in your blender with FILTERED water. Add 1 tsp of psyllium husk and chia seeds for good measure. Blend well and enjoy. You'll gain added fiber and even more nutritional benefit. #lemonjuice #lemonpeel #benefitsoflemon
